AIA Birmingham’s primary goal is to promote good design and quality in the practice of architecture. As architects together, we give voice to our shared values in order to shape our neighborhoods. AIA members strive to make the world a better place for everyone to live, work and play.

The American Institute of Architects is a three-tier organization. Every member of The American Institute of Architects is a member of the local chapter, the state organization and the national organization. AIA Birmingham members are also members of the AIA Alabama Council and the AIA Gulf States Region, which includes the states Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. Each tier offers distinct benefits to its members.
